10. Digital Story Outline
Digital Storytelling Outline
In this assignment we required to brainstorm for
translating our sociological concepts into a digital story. The first stories
about children’s and divorce .Unfortunately, millions of children in the world
have to face divorce of their parents. Some of the children overcome the
challenge without any problems, while for majority this issue remains critical
for the rest of their lives. In such cases divorce impacts their behavior form
the very childhood and the e signs of the impact are very likely to be
indicated though reduction of educational success.
During and after divorce children need a lot of
support and these should come from both parents if possible. If not so, it is
likely that children might not be able to overcome the challenge without any
additional problems such as interruption of education.
It often happens so that divorce negatively impacts
quality life of children because the level of the family income reduces, and a
single-parent family might not be able to provide the child with everything he
or she wants or needs .In such situations life of children becomes even more
challenging and during childhood or in the period of adolescents there are few
individuals who are able not to focus on such difficulties. Thus, the complex
situation in their family is added by lack of money and lack of entertainment.
As a consequence, children start developing negative an attitudes to many
activities, including going to school. More often they tend to stay at home;
they do not have any desire to wake up early to leave their rooms (The Effects
of Divorce on Children and Education).
The second story related to children's
education. Education is one of the most important spheres of life of every
person. This aspect is influenced by many factors which, unfortunately, impact
it not only in a positive way, but in a negative as well. Since family and
education are two the most important spheres of life of every child, there is a
connection between them and some problems in family life inevitably influence
academic achievements. This effect is especially severe when children have to
face divorce of their parents. Of course, some of them might overcome it
without any significant problems, while others demonstrate significant
difficulties in terms of behavior and education. The plan for these stories it
possible novel it by creating animation and slideshow. I will make interview
with parents. In my opinion, the parents are the best simple to provide me the
correct information which I want to know. Finally, I will challenge myself to
shows my concepts by perfect animation and slideshow.

7. Screen Structure Images
Screen Structure Images
In this assignment,
we were required to collect images that are related to our conceptual focus.
My focus is education and technology.
Educational technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating
learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate
technological processes and resources.

6. Video Clip re Key Concept
The History of Technology in Education
This
video describes how technology has changed from the past to present. The educational process was previously
limited to three points, the first: the student learner, and the second: the teacher, and the third, the subject. Once technology entered the education, it became the fourth underlying teaching-learning process, and had a clear impact in increased support and awareness for students. The introduction of technology in education with the presence of tools such as audio conferencing, and makes it possible now to connect with teachers and learners who are geographically distant.
It shows how primitive previously means
of education were, the impact of technology in education and the huge changes
that have taken place with the help technology, which provides easy and
convenient access to education as we more through a time of the technological resolution.
5. Defining and Visualizing Concepts
Defining and Visualizing Concepts
1. List two concepts highly relevant to your sociological
focus. Briefly state why you would like to learn more about them and especially
why you would like to build multimedia around them.
Two concepts that are highly relevant to my sociological
focus are education and teaching in media.
I would like to learn more about these concepts and build multimedia
around them because both education and teaching are the basis of the progress
of people and nations
renaissance, and they are the most important elements of
education.
2. Provide a brief description relative to how each
concept has been defined and measured
(i.e., operationalized) in the academic
literature (books and/or journal articles). In so doing, consult at least two
references per concept (be sure to provide citations for references (follow
citation style of American Sociological Review).
For education ,the article" Conductive
Education" by Ratiffe, Katherine T, Sanekane, Cindy. Discusses the importance of
education, learning disabilities and the
importance of developing learning environments for students and
help them achieve
their goals.
For teaching, the article" Techno Teaching" by
Anonymous. Discusses
the role of teaching in education
and that most
of the teachers
are trying to
develop teaching plans by embedding
technology.
3. For each concept, briefly describe how you might
approach it via multimedia representation.
Education via distance education.
Teaching through videos.
4. Relative
to A Periodic Table of Visualization Methods, determine the following for each
of your concepts:
a. Would “structure” or “process” visualization work
best?
I
think the visualization structure will work
best in education
and teaching, because the media has become a
necessity in training
and education.
b.
Which of the six broad types might be most applicable?
Either via the concept of metaphor or vision,
because the use of educational technology in the process of
teaching and learning
makes education more
effective and impact
among students.
c. Within that broad type, which particular visualization
device might be most appropriate?
The best way to
focus on images and learning map
because it best suited
for learning and
teaching
d. Run each concept through Wordnik,
Visuwords, Lexipedia, and Ngram Viewer. Did you discover anything noteworthy?
*Wordnik:
Education: A program of instruction of a
specified kind or level.
Teach: To
give instruction, especially as an occupation.
*Visuwords:
Education: knowledge by learning and
instruction.
Teach: A person whose occupation is teaching.
*Lexipedia:
Education: The knowledge acquired in school,
which person's mind and character.
Teach: impart skills or knowledge to.
*Ngram Viewer:
Education:
Teach:
What I found in the Wordnik, Visuwords, and
Lexipedia definitions are very similar but in the Wordnik view the
definitions was clear and easier. As for Ngram viewer is different in display
compared to others because it shows via the graph.

4. Illustrating Concepts
Illustrating Concepts
The Better for me is the second video in the presentation and explanation of ideas through animation, and I am international
student I found animation as in the second video is easier to understand the general ideas of the lecture. The difference between the two videos is that: the first video is depth explanation of the ideas and fills in the information because it is an
academic lecture. The second video is just
showing the most important key points of what has been explained in the lecture

3. Exploring Online Sociology Site
Exploring
Online Sociology Site
Sociology Improve http://thesocietypages.org/improv/
This site shows the evolution of sociology and autonomy due
to the complexity of social life branching into multiple fields, each of
which includes an aspect of social life.
This site shows the close link between sociology and other
sciences by allocating each week to talking about the relationship of
sociology to other sciences, such as politics, culture, technology, economics,
academics and other sciences by conducting interviews with authors and
well-known sociologists.
This podcast is an informal discussion about what is
happening in the world and has a archive that retains all topics that have
been discussed from March 2010 to today's date.
Finally, this site confirms that the reason sociology could
not truly be understood without philosophical framework is due to social
phenomena and the link between its data and facts of history and society, and
that any social philosophy away from reality becomes a kind of abstract
thinking, which is difficult.
2. My Online Life
My
Online Life
I am a digital immigrant according to Prensky in his
articles classification because I learned to use the internet from native
users. I did not grow up online. I do not remember that I used the Internet,
before I was 6 or 7 years old with its means, but with the beginning of my
university life began my use of the internet. The Internet for me became a
friend and assistant. I cannot pass on the hour without checking my email on my
Laptop, mobile, or doing research in Google for a quick answer to any personal
question that I have. The Internet has a significant impact on making the world
into a small village; it is always easy to contact my family and my friends. It
helps me in my studies using the search function to find answers to what is
difficult to understand and to find a more simplified explanation than the
professor or books approach. The Internet has also become a recreational way
for me to spend free time in watching movies, listening to music, and also reading
the news. The Internet is a big part of my life, and I cannot imagine my life
without it.
To what extent are your observations and
experiences consistent with those made in the article and the two
documentaries?
Technology and the Internet have made our life very
easy. The internet allows us to connect
different people in different ways, all over the world. Also, by our lap top, and cell phone, we can get all the
information from where ever we are. It has made to obtain information on any
topic in our school or university experience much easier. Through, the internet
we can get the direction, play games, buy movie ticket before go to the cinema,
book flight, reservation hotel, buy books, clothes, electronics……..etc.,
we cannot deny that although the Internet if has positive aspects it also has
negative aspects. Number of parents disturbing spend their children long of
hours front of a computer screen without spend their free time with them. Another
negative aspect is that using the internet for too long can hurt ones sight. So
parents must be determining the number of hours their children's use of
internet, to reduce the damage of negative aspects on their children's. Finally one of the downsides, is people loss the
actual of face to face communication with others, such as when the family or
friends meeting each of them using his or her smart phone or own laptop. They
do not care about what is happening around there.
